Daraja Foundation has working with staff and directors at Mnazi Mmoja Hospital to provide equipment on the prenatal, postnatal and labour and delivery wards. Since our partnership, Daraja has connected volunteers including nurses, doctors and midwives to share knowledge and collaborate together. With our supporters, donors and partners, including FH Canada, Canadian Birth Products Inc. and Bicycles for Humanity, we were able to donate and transport equipment including a new operating table, ABO blood grouping supplies, surgical gowns, scrubs, drapes, infant scales, fetal dopplers, blood pressure monitors, stethoscopes, resources for postnatal education, new pillows and mattresses, clean birth kits, sutures, emergency medications and an ultrasound machine.
Our current focus is on supporting a new initiative through Mnazi Mmoja Hospital and the Kanga Maternity Trust (KMT).
KMT is a non-profit organization supporting all efforts to improve health care for mothers, their children and families. Mothers are supported throughout pregnancy to childbirth, through education and prevention initiatives while gaining access to high quality care with a focus on respect and privacy.
